The barefoot essence of Trufandom can be summed up in two words: Rusty Hevelin. Back for his fifth year (DemiCon V, five years, get it?), Rusty is once again our Toastmaster and will be working the crowd at Saturday evening's art auction.
But his history as an sf fan spans decades, nay, generations, and he is a witty and willing conversationalist who can discuss Doc Savage as an art form or Carolyn Cherryh as an archaeologist with equal panache.
Rusty often huxters to earn his way across the country and back as a bookseller, but we keep him much too busy here. However, he is never too busy to welcome new fans into the arms of fandom or to greet anew old frends with a tale of wisdom and wit.
We are proud to welcome Rusty back again and again. He has earned the titles of Toastmaster Extraordinaire and DemiCon Talisman.
