OTHER GUESTS

Question: David Lee Anderson — Oklahoma artist, or madman-with-a-vision? Answer: What's the difference? This disarmingly manic Okie has graced many a book cover with his vision of the future. While this fact that apparently doesn't impress his mother, it impresses us — we've named him ArtGoH for DemiCon V. However, we anticipate that his career will survive the setback.

Artist Mitchell Bentley joins us this year for the first time. Three guesses as to which state he's from — and the first two don't count. (Only one guess as to what other Oklahoma artist is responsible for dragging him up here.) How a guy with experience in restaurant management and a degree in Electrical Electronics Technology ended up as a specialist in astronomical representationalism is not for us to say, but we're sure he'll be happy to explain it to us as soon as he gets here.

The only time I ever sent in my Hugo nomination ballot is when I decide that someone really needed to to recognize Rob Chilson's story, "Brain in a Pocket." Not that this is the only thing of note that Rob has written. In addition to numerous other short stories, Rob has published several novels — the latest entitled Rounded with Sleep. His latest publication credits include "Fetching" in the March issue of F&SF and "The Worting's Testament" in the March Analog. Catch his reading this Saturday at 1 p.m.

Her art has been featured by the Cedar Rapids ballet in its publicity materials, but this bio-writer is partial to her works featuring large, elegant cats in Egyptian settings.

We heard that Glen Cook turned down a GoH stint at another con to attend last year's DemiCon. He's been offered another GoH-ship again next year on DemiCon weekend, but we hope he won't turn this one down — 'cause we offered it to him. The prolific author of the Garrett and Black Company series (among numerous other novels) can usually be found hucking books in the dealer's room, where he'll be happy to sell you any of his enchanting works. And, if you ask nicely, he will probably autograph them on-the-spot. He'll also sell you other authors' stuff (if he has the one you want in stock), and, if you ask nicely, will probably autograph those books as well — although he may give you a funny look for asking.

Robert "J. R." Daniels claims he's giving up the F & SF gig to make some real money in aviation art. However, this decision apparently hasn't stopped the former DemiCon I ArtGoH is putting in his fourth straight appearance at our con. His incredible "Art in an Hour" demonstr-
