Oddly resembling an escapee from a biker bar, David Lee Anderson is DemiCon V's Art GoH. And pleased we are to have him again.
Dragged unwillingly (or, at least, unwittingly) to his first DemiCon three years ago by another Oklahoma artist (whom shall remain nameless), David Lee has made his presence known at the art show, at the ConSuite and at the various and varied art programming events.
An avid softball player (remember to ask about his broken finger), David Lee start his career as a commercial and graphic artist but moved into f/sf illustrations over a decade ago. His work has been seen on book covers ranging from Poul Anderson to Roger Zelazny, from Gordon R. Dickson to John Varley. The fifth issue of Tomorrow magazine (an Algis Budrys creation) features his art on the cover and, of course, the cover of this program book is David Lee's "Europa's Face".
Seek him out, greet him, he's friendly and emminently approachable. And he's being accompanied by his charming wife Carolyn. What more can a convention ask of their GoHs?
