Hotel Info.

or… Everything you Should Want to know about the HoJo"s, whether you asked or not.

Q: How hard can I party? If I, like, decide to sing Give Me that Old Time Religion at the top of my lungs until 4 in the morning, will somebody get, like, mad?

A: It depends on where you are singing or partying. The fifth floor is traditionally the all-con floor, where other convention members will (theoretically) be understanding and forgiving of your behaviour (so long as it's not out-and-out obnoxious or destructive). If you are planning any late-evening activities, it would be best to make sure the hotel houses you there. Otherwise, please try and excercise the type of volume level that keeps mundanes happy.

Q: Do I have to shake free of my Sunday hangover by noon in order to meet the room check-out deadline?

Q: I love to swim indoors in Iowa until about 3 a.m. Is this okay with the hotel?

A: Officially, no. The hotel pool closes at Midnight, although with good behavior, this may (repeat, may) be negotiable come Saturday. However, we ask that you please cooperate if one of our security people or the hotel staff nicely ask you to vacate the pool area when the wee hours arrive.

Q: Can I put up posters advertising (**my-cause-here**) around the hotel?

A: Yes, as long as you observe the following rules: 1) Attach notices to wood panelled areas with masking tape only. 2) When attaching notices to wallpapered surfaces, use tacks or pins, NOT tape. Tacks are available at the registration desk.

Q: Do I have to shake free of my Sunday hangover by noon in order to meet the room check-out deadline?

A: Not necessarily. Official check-out time is 12 noon — HOWEVER, the hotel has promised to be lenient about this, provided that you inform them in advance of your intent to delay your departure. Being as this is not too much to ask, we'll stand on the side of the hotel if you fail to do this.

Q: If I see someone with the Drake Relays hanging around the function areas, can I have permission to try and freak him/her out with some wierd sciffy schtick?

A: We suppose… but it would probably be pointless. Anyone currently staying at the hotel for the Drake Relays is already confused, since that event won't be held for another month.
