The Dragon Lady, Commander Morna MacLoughlin, or jes' plain Myrna — if you haven't met DemiCon III's FanGoH yet, you have a treat in store!
Myrna Logan has been reading F&SF about as long as Glen Cook has been writing it, but didn't encounter Fandom until a few years ago when her sister dropper her into an ICON to tread water. After a couple of nanoseconds as a Neo, our Dragon Lady was off and running. Based out of Northfield, Minnesota, Myrna's flashy dragon jewelry, Starfleet wardrobe, and long, read hair have become common sights at over a dozen Midwest cons.
Among the lunatics who bring you DemiCon, the Dragon Lady holds a special place. If you've ever been to one of DemiCon's infamous room parties, Myrna was probably a hostess there, and had a lot to do with you being here She was DMSFS's first out of state member back when DemiCon was first brewing, and is well known for her late-night clinics on "How to Rub an Alien the Right Way." As Commander Morna MacLoughlin, she serves Starship Riverside [NCC-1818] as Massage Officer, a direct extension of her mundane profession as a licensed physiotherapist
Like any really active Fan, the Dragon Lady has lots of good stories to tell, some of which are not legally actionable. You can ask her about some of the: "Dan Quayle's Secret Service, The National Black Bowlers Conference and Me," "The Klingon Security Officer and the Broken Lamp," "Determining the Tensile Strength of Cessna Wing Struts;" and "Why a Starship Command Bridge Should be Air-Conditioned."
In an environment where backrubs are popular, a woman who carries massage oils in her shoulder bag just has to be a favorite!
If you already know our Dragon Lady, you're looking forward to spending time with her this weekend. If Myrna Logan is still a stranger to you, fix it… she'll be glad to help.
