Art Show Tour, Conference Room (session 1). Artists David Cherry and Lucy Synk do their part to wipe out visual illiteracy by using the work submitted to this year's art show to demonstrate points of style and technique.

Presentation: Bill Johnson's Wide World of Science, Ballroom A. Author and Motorola "whiz kid" William Johnson discusses cutting-edge technology.
 
Panel: A Star Trek 25th Anniversary Retrospective, Iowa Room. Trekkers David Countryman, Myrna Logan and Marshall Thayer look back at a quarter-century of Trek -- both new and classic.

Presentation: The Intergalactic Massage Workshop, Ballroom A. DemiCon FanGoH and physical therapist Myrna Logan prepares you for a close encounter of the relaxed kind.
 
"A Real Informal Chat with Glen Cook," Iowa Room. Not a reading, not a presentation... just come on down and spend a casual hour with Glen talking about whatever interests him (and you).

* Panel: How to Enjoy Your First Convention, Ballroom A. Rusty Hevelin and Jeannette Roth share their insights into the madness you see around you including history, etiquette, and survival tips.
 
Presentation: Filmmaking in Iowa, Iowa Room. Wendol Jarvis of the Iowa Film Office discusses what goes into luring filmmakers to the Midwest, and what they do once they get here.

Panel: The "Art" of Storytelling, Ballroom A. David Cherry, David Lee Anderson and J. R. Daniels discuss how they actually make that picture worth 1,000 words capturing an entire story in a single frame.

Spectre Tournament, Dallas Room. Match your strategic skills in a networked computer game; see program book for further details.

Panel: Writers and Research, Ballroom A. Rob Chilson, Lee Killough, M. S. Murdock, and Mickey Zucker Reichert discuss the importance (or unimportance?) of thoroughly researching background material for stories.
 
Presentation: 20th Century Tarot -- A Comparitive Survey of the Major Arcana, Iowa Room. Jeannette Roth looks at how different perspectives come together in modern tarot symbolism. Includes slide show.
 
* Presentation: Art in About an Hour, Conference Room. J. R. Daniels returns with his demonstration of tricks and techniques that make great art easy.

Panel: The Sensitive Guys™ Martial Arts and Gun Club, Iowa Room. Max Rauer and Kevin McKee present the epitomal organization for the "conflicting 90s."

* Presentation: World-Class Costuming, Ballroom A. Award-winning costumers Pierre and Sandy Pettinger take a two-hour look at the best of SF convention costuming from around the U.S. and the world.
 
Panel: Current Events in SF, Iowa Room. Rob Chilson, William Johnson, and M. S. Murdock provide a look at how SF is keeping up with (and hopefully ahead of) modern science and technology.

Art Auction, Ballroom A. Auctioneers J. R. Daniels and Rusth Hevelin prove once again that an art lover and his money are soon parted.

George Alec Effinger Benefit Auction, Ballroom A. Help one of fandom's own by donating or buying wondrous and rare artifacts; proceeds to go to the G. A. Effinger medical fund.
